Well the New Year is off to a bang. Truck won’t start, AGAIN, wife stranded with a load of hay. Just had new battery’s installed a couple of weeks ago. Got the truck home and had to have it towed to the dealer. Surprise, surprise – Now the alternator is failing. Only putting out 11V. When it rains it pours. Praying this will fix the issue and let me move on……
Another year older and deeper in debt. Words from Tennessee Ernie Ford. Glad we made to another point in History. Hoping and praying that with a new administration in Washington that this country can finally get back on track. To all my friends and family out there, HAPPY NEW YEAR and GOD BLESS the USA.
Happy to say my hip replacement went well. PT took me off of my walker on day 6. On a cane now and the recovery seems to be going really good.. I feel pretty good however the pain pills make me sleepy. Company coming next week so I am glad that I will be able to move around much much better. Lots of things to do before Christmas.
Got the call today that my surgery is tomorrow at 11:00 am. So glad it is finally almost here. Getting tired of taking those “Special Anti-Bacterial” showers. Only two of those left to take. 🙂 Thinking the hardest part is nothing to eat or drink after midnight tonight until after my surgery. NO COFFEE in the morning. Grrrrrr!!! Hope they have a cup waiting for me when I get to my room.
One of our favorite organizations to support is Battle Buddy Service Dogs from Kansas City, MO. Their Mission statement says it all.
“Battle Buddy Service Dogs is a veteran operated, not for profit organization that provides U.S. Military Veterans diagnosed with service related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) with Service Dogs. We pair rescued dogs with the veterans, and train them together to build a trusting bond similar to the battle buddy the veteran had while serving.
Studies show that 80% of the veterans experience improvement in their symptoms when paired with a service dog. If the Battle Buddy Service Dog program can improve the quality of life for veterans and their loved ones then we have fulfilled our mission.”
If you holiday list includes donating to a quality organization please consider this group. So many vets need the help that they can provide. For more information please visit their web site at https://www.battlebuddyservicedogs.org and then if you can please donate. Thank you from this veteran and may God Bless you and the U.S.A..
Today starts the beginning of surgery prep week. Friday 12/9/2016 – Total Hip replacement. With any luck at all 8-12 weeks after that I can start riding again. I haven’t been able to ride for a couple of years. I had no idea that my hip was so messed up. I should have had the surgery much sooner. Live and learn…….. I’m just a slow learner I guess.
Well I made headway on my web site today. Still have a few finishing touches to add but I am pretty happy with it so far. I’m sure my friends will all give their input. ha-ha And I will listen of course.
